York University Visit

York U Winter Visit

York University is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Keele Campus is the main campus and is located in North York. Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology has its Seneca@York Campus located at the Keele Campus of York University.

The last time I was near the Keele Campus was in March of 2009. In the past, I had never entered any Seneca schools while visiting York University. In mid-February of 2012, I was asked to come to Technology Enhanced Learning Building which is part of Seneca@York Campus.

Changes:

While walking along The Pond Road, I was astonished at all the changes in the area. The plaza across Keele Street between The Pond Road and York Boulevard had changed. Before the changes, there were only three stores at the plaza.

Subway Extension:

The biggest change is the subway extension that will make the add six stations to the University-Spadina line. For the first time, Toronto’s subway will extend past the city limits into Vaughan. One of the stops will be York University, therefore expect traffic delays.

Conclusion:

The area around York University has changed tremendously in just three years from 2009 to 2012. The construction of new subways will cause traffic delays. The plaza around York University’s Keele Campus will continue to grow to accommodate the changes in the surrounding area.
