Sub4Sub YouTube Subscribers

YouTube is a video-sharing website, which allows users to share and view videos. Registered YouTube users can upload videos and subscribe to another user’s videos. One way of gauging the popularity of a registered user is subscribers.

Sub4Sub provides a sub4sub service by which a YouTube user can get many subscriptions.

Sub4sub works by automating the subscription process through giving and receiving. A registered YouTube user must subscribe to ten people before receiving back any subscriptions. Sub4sub is essentially a sharing service.

Sub4sub Introduction

Sub4Sub also offers a paid service for subscribers and views. The initial contact with Sub4Sub will be through an inbox message from another YouTube registered user.

A quick check of the user’s YouTube channel will reveal many subscribers but no uploaded content. If you wait a few weeks, the user will no longer appear on YouTube because of account suspension. However an allegedly new user will send you the same message.

You agree not to use or launch any automated system, including without limitation, “robots,” “spiders,” or “offline readers,” that accesses the Service in a manner that sends more request messages to the YouTube servers in a given period of time than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional on-line web browser.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, YouTube grants the operators of public search engines permission to use spiders to copy materials from the site for the sole purpose of and solely to the extent necessary for creating publicly available searchable indices of the materials, but not caches or archives of such materials.

YouTube reserves the right to revoke these exceptions either generally or in specific cases. You agree not to collect or harvest any personally identifiable information, including account names, from the Service, nor to use the communication systems provided by the Service (e.g., comments, email) for any commercial solicitation purposes.

You agree not to solicit, for commercial purposes, any users of the Service with respect to their Content.

Sub4Sub Response:

Sub4Sub claims that their service does not violate any YouTube TOS. On the home page, Sub4Sub states that “you are just subscribing to other users, being added to a list, and nothing is being bought or sold”.

Specific YouTube Violations:
1. Being added to a subscription service after waiting for ten subscriptions is an automated system.
2. Sub4Sub requires the collection of personally identifiable information to determine the ten subscriptions.
3. The messages in the inbox clear show that Sub4Sub solicitation commercially.

Conclusion:

Sub4Sub is not a worthwhile service. It violates at least three YouTube terms of service. The allegedly registered YouTube users do not have any uploaded content. Purchasing subscriptions or views will not increase a registered user’s popularity.

Recommendations:
1. Do not use services that require payment to increase your popularity.
2. Engage with your users and tailor content to increase popularity.
3. Do not use services that violate the terms of service.
4. Gain popularity the old fashion way, by earning it via real user feedback.
