Mozilla Firefox 6 Reviewed
In 2011, Mozilla implemented a rapid release cycle for the Firefox browser. Issues with Mozilla’s frequent Firefox releases were discussed by Ojambo.com in an article titled “Mozilla Firefox Rapid Release”.
Firefox 5 was released on schedule. Six weeks after the Firefox 5 release, the next release was Firefox 6.

Google Chrome Popularity In UK

Google Chrome is second most popular browser in the UK
Google Chrome is more now slightly more popular than Mozilla’s Firefox in the UK. Google Chrome becomes UK’s second most popular web browser.
All major browsers have changed since Chrome was released about three years ago.

Issues with Mozilla’s frequent Firefox releases
Mozilla claims that more frequent Firefox releases can occur without disrupting “longer term work”. The overview can be found on a wiki explaining the Mozilla Firefox Rapid Release.
The biggest issue with the rapid releases is the end-of-life (EOL) of older releases.

Google drops support for old browsers

Plans to support modern browsers
On June 01, 2011, the official Gmail Blog and the Google Docs Blogs featured a post by Google’s VP of Engineering. A copy of the post is available at Our plans to support modern browsers across Google Apps.
Google wants to take advantage of features available in modern browsers. These features include desktop notifications and “drag-and-drop file upload”. Google has set a date for when support for older browsers will end.
