Part One of One
The “diff” command can be used to compare files.
The video begins by selecting a suitable programming editor. A file manager is used to view output. A terminal is opened to run the “diff” command.
The tutorial is broken up into four parts. The first creates an “Old.txt” and “New.txt” files inside the chosen folder. The second part opens a terminal or command line inside the chosen folder.
The third part uses the “diff” command to compare “Old.txt” to New.txt”. The final output is displayed in a terminal. The “diff” command output shows which lines changed for both files.
